Noise level may be an issue for those apartment dwellers, since these buttons are louder than the side buttons on the Rival 100, which is saying something. With the AA alkaline it comes with out of the box, the mouse weighs just under 100 grams, which is still light for a wireless mouse. Not that it's homely in either of its finishes (matte black, or white), but it won't outshine other, more muscular models in Logitech's lineup.

So for many years we got just that, super high-end wireless gaming mice with all the bells and whistles of their wired counterparts, but without the cord, and for many, it was bliss – until 12 hours later when you had to plug the damn thing in to charge. The receiver garage is a nice touch we all can appreciate as it keeps it safe and secure while we’re on the road.

Instead of a rechargeable battery, the G305 Lightspeed runs on a single AA battery, Logitech claims you can get up to 250 hours of gaming off one battery.

I was never a fan of the side buttons on the G Pro, since they felt mushy with a force curve on the down press. It’s also comfortable to use, even during long gaming sessions, and has that nifty G-Shift function.

The Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED and the Razer Orochi V2 are good wireless gaming mice with strengths in different areas. The G305 under review today might be on the low-end, but we soon find out it’s a solid performer with an absurd battery life. Keep in mind that there have been reports of the HERO 12K and 16K spinning out from some users – get an RMA if this happens or try to troubleshoot with firmware and connections. The Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless only offers 12,000 DPI max, but we just use the word “only” here in comparison to other wireless gaming mice. It isn’t a massive problem, and I can get used to it and play well with it, but be aware of this if you really couldn’t stand it on the G Pro or the G102/203.
