About this deal

The first several rounds feel pretty harmless, but once the ghosts accumulate and hauntings start occurring, people start to realize that the game can be quickly lost. The way you do that is by travelling to the appropriate room in the cellar while holding one of the treasures. Everything that was added fits in very well with the theme and the general flow of the original game and it still very much feels like you are playing that original game but with more added to it. Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children.

In our opinion, Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters is the perfect gateway game for kids, (and heck, maybe some adults too, you never know. You can fight the hauntings too, but you have to have two treasure hunters in the same room to do so. So, I picked up the German copy as one of the select games I brought back from my one and only Essen trip in 2013. The treasure hunters start out right outside of the house and take turns rolling the movement die, revealing a ghost card which generally adds an additional ghost to the game board, then moving their piece, and either picking up a treasure jewel and/or fighting a ghost if you have successfully made your way to a room with a ghost in it. Variations: The most important variation are challenge cards that you can add into game play that make the game much more difficult.Materiali buoni, spedizione perfetta, istruzioni in italiano (comunque il gioco non è dipendente dalla lingua). The most common type of card gives the letter of one of the rooms in the mansion, including the two new rooms in the cellar. In the end, thinking about how great this game looks brings us right back to why we love this game in the first place - and board games in general. Each room has six drop-off spots in it, with the right room having odd-numbered spots and the left room having even-numbered spots.

So, you've got to deal with each room before too many hauntings happen, which is when three ghosts inhabit a room. However, every turn, each player draws from the deck a card that can lock doors, or more likely, place a ghost on the board. You can move through other players, but you cannot end your movement on the same hallway space as another player. It fits so that two of the hallways on the original board now lead to stairs going down to the cellar. On their turn, players must roll a die, then they resolve the roll by first flipping a card that has a letter corresponding with a room on the board where then they must place a new ghost, then they are able to move their ghost fighting treasure hunter around the house the same number of spaces as the number rolled on the die so they can find treasure and/or manage the haunting situation. Now, once a player moves into a room with a jewel, it can be flipped over so that everyone knows which number is on it.

It’s the same as Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters, which is to be expected, but I’m still very impressed by the quality here. It has been around since 2013, and was released by Mattel Germany to critical acclaim at that year’s SPIEL fair. The game has a great deal of luck, but just enough strategy in the decisions that you can nicely second-guess yourselves later. At the start of the game, the house is seeded with a few ghosts and the treasure tokens are placed in the appointed rooms. they actually wanted to spend time together , made my momma heart happy for sure ) The easiest set of rules would be just right for younger children. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. If the house becomes too overrun by ghosts and there are no more ghosts or haunts left to be placed in the house the team loses. I think this is a good thing as those cards were really punishing in the Advanced and Nightmare versions of the base game. My flatmates were a little cautious (mainly cause I'd spent money yet again), but they ended up loving it so much and really getting into it. Again, the game ends if six rooms are haunted, so the group would do well to work on attacking rooms with two ghosts in it to prevent the hauntings from occurring.

We used the theme to spark our imaginations - and on family walks I would pretend to be The Ogre and race everyone to the treasure waiting at our house. When we play this with our six year old, we use these advanced rules and it is so fun to watch her think through her moves. What does Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters Creepy Cellar add to the original award-winning kids’ game?

Strangely, despite all the extra barriers the game seems to be throwing against the players, it (at least on the basis of the plays so far) does not seem to be considerably harder to win. Without the requirement of removing gems in sequence, the advance game seemed to just be more complex rather than harder. Move – Now you move you player token a number of spaces up to the number on the die (though there is no obligation to move at all if you don’t want to move). They duck in and out of the hallways, into bathrooms and various bedrooms - and they’re bustin’ ghosts along the way.
