About this deal

I have never been a massive fan of autobiographies, as, in the main, they do tend to be self-indulgent drivel and this is no exception.

The chapter headings suggest a highlights package of the rows, controversies and personality clashes of the Premier League era. Some of the book reviews of his book arent that complimentary, talking about how he's spending more time talking about football rather than leadership but I disagree. was an outstanding year for Alex Ferguson—not only did he lead Manchester United to a unique and outstanding treble triumph, but he was also awarded the highest honour for his sporting achievements—a Knighthood from the Queen. Author and Journalist Frank Worall published his biography on the Old Scot in charge of Manchester United a few months United won their 12th EPL title under Ferguson in 2011.It is not interesting, unless you know who Alex Ferguson and appreciate what he has done for the game. He wrote it on a card and stuck it up on the wall in front of my desk - " The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night . He does say at the beginning he is focusing on his time at Man U as he has covered other parts of his life in other books, but what if like me you have not read these books? Written by the man himself, the book is entertaining and is recommended for anyone who while despising the wily Scot for winning so much respects him, and wants to know one of the greatest stories of football. If you are looking for Ferguson's views regarding certain players he managed or managers he faced then this book would be worthwhile.

Nice and clean pages as new with a small mark on the outer edges, two pencil marks impressions on the edge of the first blank page of the book, very small tear on the edge of page 345.Things are getting disrupted constantly, new models are coming up and you are doing sweet sod all to learn and be trained. Sir Alex Ferguson's compelling story is always honest and revealing he reflects on his managerial career that embraced unprecedented European success for Aberdeen and 26 triumphant seasons with Manchester United. This background coloured his football playing career, with his manager asking what religion his wife was and where they had been married. It then chronicles his adventures during his playing days and as a manager, particularly at Manchester United.

Sir Alex tells his readers of how he maintained an iron grip on the dressing room, combined with a relentless hunger for success, and how he managed to remain unchallenged in English football for much of his tenure. During this time, he was the winner of the country’s top league the Scottish Premier Division between 1980 and 1985. I expected a detailed story of Alex Fergusons life, his troubles, and most importantly his experiences that has made him a legendary manager. This book was written after Manchester United’s treble: winning the league, the league cup, and the champion’s league. In a community that relies heavily on a single industry, there is an intensity of shared experience that draws people together and tends to make them appreciate the need to support one another. Little did Ferguson know when the book was published in 1999 that there was plenty more to come as manager of Manchester United! Ferguson is the longest serving manager of Manchester United, overtaking Sir Matt Busby's record on 19 December 2010, eventually completing more than 26-and-a-half years as the club's manager.
