About this deal

Although they appear to reconcile at the end, some can view this as one of the early signs of tension between the pair that eventually drives Robin towards his solo career as Nightwing in The New Batman Adventures (1997). Sadly, Issue 414 was interesting, but apparently isn't resolved until issue 421, 422, which aren't easily available. But it does not include the first continuity of the BATMAN strip that I did before the Tribune forced me to step down at the threat of a lawsuit (the great Marshal Rogers was the artist). Now, I probably quit about fifteen seconds before I would have been fired…but I beat ‘em to the punch.

When Marvel Comics wished to use the name of Captain Marvel for a new, different character,[citation needed] Starlin was given the rare opportunity to produce a one-shot story in which to kill off a main character. Batman is equally rash: one story features him totally mucking up a case because a young blonde socialite who shared his penchant for helping others gets brutally murdered.

He has black hair, he's been living alone for a long time after his mother died of a drug overdose and his father was killed by Two Face, who he worked for.

Collins’ pens the first six stories and they are a mixed bag (the standouts being Jason Todd’s origin and the two-part Batman imposter story), but for the most part, it still feels stuck in the Bronze Age.

Instead of being a carbon copy of Grayson’s lighthearted sidekick, Todd is much more prone to violence and doesn’t respect Batman if he feels his mentor is wrong on an issue. Genre superhero Characters Batman [Bruce Wayne]; Robin [Jason Todd]; Alfred Pennyworth; Commissioner James Gordon; Tommy Carma [as Batman] (villain); Howard Desmond; Mrs.
