About this deal

The tremendous success and high profile of the movie has vastly broadened the toy-buying audience, with many more kids, adult collectors, and scalpers seeking out product. Armor Knight Optimus Prime is a retool of Age of Extinction: Generations Leader Class Optimus Prime. It features a new head sculpt with a rotatable faceplate (one side with the mask, the other without, the whole part rotates), along with other remolded body parts (such as his skirt, feet, and chest), giving it a more screen accurate appearance. He includes more movie-accurate weapons, featuring a new sword and shield, albeit in not-so-accurate colors (the sword's transparent orange blade was also a nod to the sword's "heat up" mode in the concept art.). He is covered in metallic paint, along with additional chrome details on his rims and bumper. Kreons: Bumblebee, Evac (pre-2020 releases), Megatron, Optimus Prime, N.E.S.T. Sentry (2020 release)

Buster Prime's paint job is deffinately better than the original release. However, I personally think that it's missing too paint details in robot mode. Leading to the robot mode looking a little too shiny and one note. It is the only version of the mold that uses chrome and has the flame pinstripes in alt-mode. The flames are personally the only thing I like about this specific release. Chromed plastic is fragile, and those alt-mode grills end up on the bottom of his feet. So you have to be very careful about how you handle and pose him. There is another release that you might want to look into. It's Movie the Best MB-11 Optimus Prime. This mold uses silver paint instead of chrome, has additional paint details in robot mode, has articulated hands, and uses the Dark of the Moon version of the mold as the base ( Meaning that he has the updated abs and has the transformable gas tank guns ). Aesthetics are always subjective, so I'll just post some comparison photos and you can make up your own mind. The waist/hip area features a series of details including a rectangle in the middle and angled shapes on either side. Another 3D printable model of Optimus Primal available on Printables, this time of his gorilla head on a stand. The stand features a prominent Maximal insignia. Looks like Magnificus wasn't the only reveal to come from the MCM Expo in London, as at the same panel, we got this revealed for the first time:

TRANSFORMERS G2-INSPIRED DESIGN: This Legacy Series Transformers 7-inch G2 Universe Laser Optimus Prime robot toy is inspired by the Transformers: Generation 2 animated series, updated with a Generations-style design

UNIVERSES COLLIDE: Universes collide with Transformers: Legacy! This epic line of Transformers toys brings together fan-favorite characters from across the Transformers multiverse Unlike its predecessors, this sculpt is largely based on the design from the G1 episode "War Dawn" which showed us how Orion Pax was wounded in battle and changed into Optimus Prime. For those curious, the figure stands at about 6.5 inches (16.51 centimeters) making it larger than a Deluxe Class figure. The design of the character is very distinct, and this figure has many of the design elements from the animation figure including: Unleash the primal power of the beasts with the ancient and highly advanced F.O.S.S.I.L. technology. Sentient Fossilizer bots, infused with primordial energy, break apart and weaponize their allies. Use Deluxe Fossilizer figures to beastify this figure with epic bone armor accessories! (Each sold separately, subject to availability.) Estimated ship date subject to change, items may ship earlier or later than anticipated without noticeSwing the sections with the two rear wheels down, then separate them from one another to begin forming the legs. Q: Could we also see more accurate versions of them and the TFP characters in Studio Series though? A: Entirely possible, they’re talking about expanding Studio Series beyond movies."— TFW2005 asking Hasbro about more accurate redos of Prime characters Harness the power of Energon with the Transformers Legacy Series Leader G2 Universe Laser Optimus Prime robot toy! Optimus Prime fights bravely and selflessly for the freedom of all life forms. Accessories: Eliminator Gun & Assault Blaster (forms Mega Striker), shield/battle shield, two battle blades

Position the arms into place, and Optimus will announce "Transform!", with a classic transformation sound effect. Whether by coincidence or by design, his chest can open up along with a third panel (that includes a faux grill not seen in either mode for some reason) in a manner that replicates his Matrix chamber in the 1986 movie, though no Matrix of Leadership toys can fit inside without impeding his transformation. This toy has been retroactively declared part of the Premium Series of more movie-accurate redecos of core characters from the movie. Fireburst Optimus Prime is a redeco of the standard Dark of the Moon Voyager Class Optimus Prime, sporting a darker shade of blue and a "burning" color scheme that includes replacing all translucent blue parts with translucent orange. Because of this, his light-piping eyes were neutered by opaque light blue paint.

Although usually sold in Japanese markets, some department stores in Asia had sold the set as well. The newly tooled legs also feature unreasonably long pegs to secure their connection in vehicle mode. They have a tendency to snap off over time, though this doesn't affect the toy too much. The trilogy that began with "Combiner Wars" concludes with "Power of the Primes". This line focuses on the original 13 Primes themselves returning. However, instead of gigantic beings storming the battlefield, the Primes have distilled their essence into Sparks that can be used by Transformers to gain all new powers. Depending on which Spark the Transformer takes on, they are powered up in different ways. ARTICULATED FOR PLAY AND DISPLAY: Transformers figures feature articulated heads, arms, and legs for action poses Studio Series has always allowed fans to reach past the big screen and build the ultimate Transformers collection inspired by iconic movie scenes from the Transformers movie universe. Now, the Studio Series line is expanding to include the epic moments and characters from the classic The Transformers: The Movie, bringing fans a whole new series of screen-inspired figures to collect! (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

Once every hundred-thousand years or so, when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow and the grass doth grow... The change from "Diaclone" to "Ancient Time Universe" is because TakaraTomy has a concurrently-running Diaclone revival line entirely separate from Transformers (focusing on the original pre- Car Robot aesthetic).

Yes, Best Buy the American electronics retail chain. For a brief while they dabbled in collectibles. It didn't last long, but long enough to get out a pair of Voyager molds with Premium Series level more screen-accurate, metallic paint jobs. Released as part of a Rise of the Beasts-themed batch of the Pop! Movies segment, Funko's Pop! Optimus Primal is a super deformed vinyl figure of the character roaring in gorilla mode. This figure is mostly red plastic with smaller parts cast in silver and blue. For the most part the colors match up very well with the animation model. However the parts that were white on the animation model are silver here (including the thighs and elbow joints). I don't mind this as the silver works nicely with the red and blue colors. The chest windshield is cast in translucent blue. Protoform Starscream "Fusion Cluster Edition" (a redeco of Deluxe Class Protoform Starscream in "entry mode" colors, exclusively available at the C3xHobby Convention and later also from e-HOBBY)
